A long road of history and experience

Since 1986, the year of its foundation, Opac has been operating in many sectors of industry: from bodywork for special cars to equipment, from boating to transport, ranging from configurations for single components to entire assembly lines.

The company is based in Rivalta di Torino, near Turin. It covers a total area of 26,000 square meters, 17,000 of which are covered, where a complete and self-sufficient processing cycle takes place.

In over 35 years of activity, Opac has been involved in the development of many cars. The most significant models  - among many others - are:

Opac also built the Maserati Opac prototype in 1994, a car entirely designed and produced by the company on the structural and mechanical basis of the Maserati Spyder, but using the Shamal's 3.2-liter V8 engine.

In 1996, it presented at the 66th Turin Motor Show the Opac Più, a prototype also in this case entirely conceived, designed and manufactured by Opac. Opac Più is a small spider based on the Peugeot 106 Xsi, whose bodywork has been totally redesigned.

In addition to all this, there are many cars for which Opac has collaborated in the study and production of manually or electrically operated soft top.

In all these years, the company has also been active on other projects such as the production of cabins for heavy equipment vehicles, buses, off-road vehicles, vehicles for transporting disabled people, wire-guided trolleys, motorcycles and stylish components for office and home interiors.

Since 1996, Opac has brought its automotive expertise to the marine industry, becoming a valued supplier of soft-top and hard-top systems for yachts to shipyards and individuals. In this field, Opac made its début with the realization of the largest soft-top with automotive-derived kinematics. Within a few years, other important goals have been achieved, such as the realization of the first retractable soft-top on fly, the first automatic glazed hard-top and the first soft-top completely in carbon fiber. Till now, twenty opening systems for the nautical sector have been developed by Opac.

Nowadays Opac is a company able to satisfy, as System Supplier, any request coming from any national and foreign car manufacturers and coachbuilders, through the study and construction of prototypes and the production in small series of special cars, using any requested material (steel sheet, aluminium, resins, carbon fibres).

The company joins the characteristics of a technologically advanced industry with typical handicraft specializations. In this way, tradition and innovation blend harmoniously together, projecting Opac into the future.
